What we know about you.

Effective 22 August 2026 · KRC Designs LLC, Sarasota, Florida

Almost nothing, and that is on purpose. This page is short because there is not much to describe.

The one-paragraph version

If you use the free tier, we never learn who you are — no account, no sign-up, nothing sent to us. If you buy a tier, we store your email address and which tier you bought, and nothing else. Your field log stays in your own browser and is never transmitted. There is no analytics, no advertising, no tracking pixel and no cookie on this site. We do not sell anything about you, and we do not publish your locations.

What we collect, and only if you buy

WhatWhyWhere it lives
Your email addressIt is the key that restores your purchase on a new phone or computer. Without it a paid tier could not follow you off the device you bought it on.Cloudflare D1, our database. Stored with a one-way hash of the address as the record key.
Your tier and expiryTo know whether to open the paid features.Same place.
A Stripe customer referenceSo a renewal or cancellation in Stripe updates your access.Same place.

That is the complete list. We do not collect your name, address, phone number, age, photographs, camera data, or the places you go.

Card details never reach us. Payment is handled entirely by Stripe on Stripe's own checkout page. We never see, store or transmit a card number. Stripe's handling of your payment information is governed by Stripe's privacy policy.

What stays on your device and never leaves it

NatureFlare keeps a few things in your browser's local storage. None of it is uploaded, and we cannot read it:

Your field log is genuinely yours. It is not backed up by us and we could not recover it if you lost it. Clearing your browser's site data for natureflare.app erases all of the above permanently. If a season of sightings matters to you, export or copy it somewhere safe.

Cookies and analytics

None. NatureFlare sets no cookies, runs no analytics package, embeds no advertising or social tracking script, and assigns you no identifier. We do not know how many pages you viewed or how long you stayed. Aggregate request counts visible to us through Cloudflare's hosting dashboard are the extent of it.

Who else your browser talks to

Some parts of the app are fetched live. Those services see a request from your device, which necessarily includes your IP address. We do not control what they log.

ServiceWhenWhat it can see
Cloudflare (hosting)Every page and imageIP address, browser, requested URL — standard server logs
StripeOnly at checkoutPayment details, email, IP address
Open-MeteoWhen you load weather for a parkThe park's coordinates and your IP address — never your own location
OpenStreetMapWhen a map drawsWhich map tiles you requested, and your IP address

NatureFlare does not ask for or use your device's GPS location. Weather and light are computed for the park you selected, not for where you are standing.

What we will never do

How long we keep it

Your email and tier are kept for as long as you have access, plus a reasonable period afterwards for accounting and tax records — Stripe transaction records are retained as long as US tax law requires. Ask us to delete your record and we will, subject to those obligations.

Your rights

Wherever you live, you can ask us what we hold about you, ask for a copy, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. If you are in the EU or UK, that includes your GDPR rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability and objection; our lawful basis is performance of a contract for purchase records, and legitimate interest for keeping the service running. If you are in California, we do not sell or share personal information as the CCPA defines those terms, and we will not discriminate against you for exercising any right.

Write to [email protected]. We will answer within 30 days.

Children

NatureFlare is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect information from them. If you believe a child has given us an email address, tell us and we will remove it.

Changes

If this policy changes, the new version and its effective date appear on this page. If a change materially affects what we collect, we will say so plainly at the top rather than quietly editing a paragraph.
